This spicy tomato based sauce is a family favorite. We like to serve it on penne pasta, fresh out of the pot! and a mound of freshly grated Parmigiano! YUMMMM!!!
Choose either dread chili flakes (easy to have on hand) or red Thai chilis. You control the heat. Remember, the longer the sauce cooks, the spicier it will become.
Alla Arrabbiata (Angry Sauce)
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon snipped parsley
- 8 ounces hot cooked penne pasta
Prepare basic sauce as directed above, add hot pepper and parsley with tomatoes. Traditionally tossed with penne or mostaciolli.
