at Sizzleworks for an evening of Izakaya, or Japanese bar foods! It was stupendous, and her teriyaki sauce was superb! So, my husband and I decided to make a steak salad for dinner, and I opted to recreate Chef Shirley’s teriyaki. As you can see form the recipe, it calls for sake — however, I had none. BUT, I did have coconut lemongrass sake, so I went with that. Here’s how it turned out …
(mixed in advance until sugar dissolves):2 tablespoons sugar (I use superfine sugar) 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup sake (see the photo below for the coconut lemongrass stuff) 2 teaspoons wasabi paste 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest I’m still dreaming about this!!!
